Mission Ministry

During the past thirty-four years First Baptist Sweetwater has a shared a rich history of mission through education, giving, and going. Our Women on Mission have been a major catalyst for prayer, participation, and education. They continue their passion in these arenas.
During this last decade, God has sent other visionary church members to give balance to the missions’ ministry. FBS recognizes that the greater Orlando area is a vibrant seedbed of global opportunity with more than 50 million visitors each year. Orlando’s DNA exudes an ever-growing international flavor as a major port for people-groups from across the globe. Baptists in this central Florida region worship in over fifteen languages on any given Sunday and conversations around Orlando take place in over seventy languages and dialects each day.
Our mission participation is determined through prayer, verification of needs, and an evaluation of the effectiveness of the particular ministry. While our Global Mission Action Team cast a umbrella vision for the Church, individuals and small group ministries provide input and example with ideas and small group ministries throughout our Church and community.
