FAQS

ARE THERE ANY MORE FORMS?

Yes! The Medical & Photo release on the link above is REQUIRED. Please print and bring with you Sunday, 8/13, 8:30am.

WHEN DO I NEED TO ARRIVE AT CHURCH?
Students should arrive at the Sweetwater South Campus Fellowship Hall by 8:30am.
We will eat breakfast from 8:45-9:15am.

WHEN WILL WE LEAVE?
We will leave the church parking lot no later than 9:50am.

HOW LONG IS THE TRIP TO CHARLESTON?
We will be in the van for 6-7hrs.

WHAT WILL WE DO DURING THE MISSION TRIP?
Our missions partner, Group Mission Trips, is organizing our activities for the week.
We may work with the elderly, serve underprivileged children at a church day-camp, work in a food pantry, do light construction work, or serve meals to the unhoused. Some of our students will have opportunities for front-facing interactions with those we serve. The churches and organizations with which we work will continue the work of long-term discipleship after we leave.

WHERE ARE WE STAYING FOR THE MISSION TRIP?

Please bring a TWIN air mattress (we may not be able to accommodate larger air mattresses). See the Group registration page for further info about bathrooms and showers.

WHAT ARE WE DOING FRIDAY?
See the schedule link above.
We have a fun day in Charleston planned for Friday and will be lodging at Comfort Suites Charleston West Ashley in Charleston, South Carolina. We will take a river cruise to Fort Sumter in the afternoon.
There will be time to explore Charleston before dinner and a special activity in the evening.

WHEN WILL WE RETURN?
Parents please be flexible. We hope to return to the Sweetwater South Campus around 4pm on Saturday, 7/19. We will reach out via text with updates about our ETA throughout the day.

WILL THIS BE FUN?
The best way to ensure that we have fun together is to hold expectations loosely and to be flexible. We will have opportunities for downtime, which is a great time for games, rest, good conversations, and general shenanigans. Sometimes we will be working hard. The harder we work together, the more likely it is that we will enjoy the freedom to worship, relax, and just be silly.
“Blessed are the flexible, for they will not be bent out of shape.”

WHAT’S THE THEME FOR THE WEEK?
Our theme for the week is E.Q.U.I.P. Click here for an overview.
We will explore EQUIP through the eyes of Saul who becomes Paul. We will look at his transformation. The decisions he had to make. And how Jesus pursued Saul.

———-
Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his
love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy
complete by being likeminded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Do
nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above
yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.

Philippians 2:14 (NIV)
